Thursday, December 6th - Saturday, December 8th

Two students, Seth and Max, traveled to Long Beach, WA to meet Steering Committee members and conduct preliminary interviews.  The meeting took place at the Cranberry Research Station and everyone learned a lot, including about Japanese Tsunami Marine Debris or JTMD.

January 2013

​Thanks to Seth and Max, we have collected a ton of great information from the interviews. Thanks to those who participated. So far we have 17 interviews and in the upcoming weeks we hope to have some more interviews done. ​

Friday, January 25th - Sunday, January 27th

​Four students, Chris, Kyle, Max, and Mori made a trip out to the coast over the weekend to conduct focus group interviews. They  facilitated 4 different focus groups, totaling some 12 hours of material. They spent time with the folks in Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties. They were also able to experience the excitement surrounding razor clamming on the beautiful beach of the Washington Coast.​

Friday, January 25th

Two students, Yolanda and Ele attended the Washington Coastal Marine Advisory Council (WCMAC) meeting in Olympia. They were able to meet with key stakeholders and got invaluable information for the project.

February 27th

Our group submitted the first draft of the paper. The final interview count nearly topped 40! We will be editing the paper over the next two weeks and submit the final report on March 11th. 

March 15th

Our group presented our findings to some members of the Jobs Project's Steering Committee in a videoconference.  Two days before, we shared our final report with all of the committee.  We also presented to our fellow students and the greater UW community a few hours after the videoconference.
